  1. Haggai 2:7 The title Desire of Nations has traditionally been understood as a title of Christ, the one desired by the nations, but the Hebrew verb come is plural, so this passage must refer to the people of the nations whom God desires to come to Christ with their gifts.
  2. Haggai 2:9 The first house was the temple built by Solomon, which had been destroyed in 586 bc. The second house is the temple that was being built by Zerubbabel. This second temple would become the temple Jesus would enter.
